Welcome to my website. This is a real passion of my, which I've
been doing for the last 16 years and still love every minute of it.

I study at the Richmond Adult Community Collage from 2002-2003
in film photography and darkroom developing and printing. My course was
one day a week, but I used to go in at least three evenings a week after work
so I could practice in my printing skills. I had an amazing teacher called
Zbigniew Mroz who let me use the darkroom in the evenings while
he was teaching another class.

Born in West London. I am a Barnes based fine art photographer
who's lived in the borough all my life. I love photographing my local
area of Barnes,Richmond and Twickenham and of the river Thames.
I am inspired by the landscape of this areas beauty and its history.

My love and passion in life is specialising in a unique style of photography
using conventional methods in pinhole and my old manual cameras and
manual lenses in 35mm and medium format. I love film photography for its
texture, depth and character, specially Ilford Delta 400 and FP4 Plus.

I also do pinhole photography which is simply timeless and gives so
much scope for creativity. I have three box cameras which are hand-crafted
by me in dark walnut and panga panga hardwoods with a variety of
different focal lengths. Pinhole cameras,by definition, have no lens,
and just a small hole. Most of my box cameras have a aperture
of around f219 - about 14 times less light than a typical
camera-so exposures are usually several minutes long.
I use 4"x 5" Ilford and kodak sheet film in my box cameras.

The darkroom is where shadows and highlights meet on a sheet
of photographic paper. The thrill of watching the image slowly
emerge never completely goes. The sense of creation that is to
be had by physically handing a sheet of photographic paper through
all the stages of exposing, developing, bleaching, toning is very real.

I use Ilford Muitigrade 1V Fibre Base and Warmtone Papers
to print my work. I find a "fine art - toned black & white print
refreshing and in my opinion is still the most powerful form of
photographic art.

Some of my work is available for purchase as
LIMITED EDITION PRINTS.
